We’re seeking dynamic and creative individuals who are able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in all aspects of family placement and child and family work. You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team to develop effective partnerships with local providers as well as meeting the needs of foster carers and the children placed with them. Foster Support Manager

We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual who is able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in all aspects of family placement and child and family work. If you feel as strongly as we do that children deserve to have access to quality family placements then this is the challenge for you.

As the Foster Support Manager you will be responsible for developing programs and services and be an integral part of the leadership team promoting a positive organizational culture and a demonstrated commitment to our Key Assets Purpose & Pledges. You will provide leadership to the Foster Support Team in supporting and supervising carers and ensuring that children and youth are cared for in accordance to the Ministry of Children and Youth Services licensing standards and Key Assets Framework for Excellence.

The successful candidate will provide clinical supervision and the annual performance reviews for social work staff, develop and implement training, oversee our Serious Occurrence and Enhance Serious Occurrence reporting, liaise with customers and community partners, provide crisis management and back-up on-call support.

An ability to work in a fast paced environment with flexible work hours is an essential component of this position.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must have a BSW or MSW or equivalent education and related experience
  • Must be registered with the OCSWSSW
  • 2-5 years supervisor experience with preference given to those that have worked in Foster Care, adoption and/or Child Welfare
  • Comprehensive understanding of the CFSA and Foster Care licensing requirements
  • Ability to work flexibly including evenings, weekends and on-call
  • Demonstrated understanding of working in an anti-oppressive and anti-racist manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • A Valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License, daily access to a vehicle, insurance for business use
  • A second language is an asset
  • A clear and current “Vulnerable Sector Police Screening”

Relief & Part-Time Child & Youth Counsellors

Key Assets is seeking innovative and creative Child and Youth Counsellors for relief and part-time contract positions supporting children and youth with complex needs in fostering settings. As a part of a multi-disciplinary team you will provide daily living and educational supports, therapeutic counseling and individual programming and behaviour management support.

Shifts can be on an as-needed basis with the potential for up to 30 hrs. a week part-time and full-time contracted positions. Candidates may support children within a variety of regions specifically; Peel, Halton, Toronto, York, Simcoe and Durham Regions.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have a minimum a Child and Youth Worker Diploma/Degree or Developmental Services Worker Diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience, preferably with children in Foster Care
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to supporting individuals from diverse cultures, experiences and backgrounds
  • Must have valid First Aid, CPR and current certification in an approved Crisis Prevention and Intervention program
  • A valid G license with a clear driving record and a safe/reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2-Million liability insurance
  • A current ‘Vulnerable Sector Police Screening’
  • A second language including American Sign Language is an asset
