Short term placements at Key Assets Fostering can last for several days, weeks or months. The aim of a short term fostering placement is to find a safe and suitable home for a child or youth temporarily.
The foster care will often last until the child is ready to be reunited with their birth family. Alternatively, a young person may be approaching the age of independence or working towards adoption as part of permanence planning.
Short term placements can be made for children with various complex needs or behavioural difficulties and of any age, from birth to independence. We need foster parents who can provide them with a safe and stable home geared towards meeting their specific needs.
If you want more information about short term placements or if you think you could offer short term foster care, contact your local office today.
