Parent and child placements provide care for one or two parents and their child or children.
In parent and child placements, foster parents provide support and guidance to young parents, helping them develop their parenting skills while offering care for their children.
Parent and child placements are similar to other fostering placements in that they can last for days, weeks or months, and will often take place in the foster parent’s home.
Additional training is provided for foster parents who can offer parent and child placements. Some Parent and child foster parents may be asked to work as part of a professional team to undertake a formal assessment of capabilities of one or both parents.
For more information about parent and child placements or if you think you could offer parent and child foster care, contact your local office today.
