Emergency placements

Emergency foster care placements at Key Assets Fostering provide a safe home for a child or youth to stay at very short notice. Children and youth in need of emergency placements can be referred from a local child and family services provider.

Often, children and youth are brought into emergency placement due to their removal from a situation which threatens their welfare. Emergency placements could also be the result of a placement breakdown with other foster parents or simply the need to place children outside of regular office hours.

Could you offer emergency foster care?

Emergency placements usually last for a few nights and can be provided by foster parents of any level of skill set or experience, although many of these children may exhibit difficult behaviours or require care for complex needs.

If you want more information about emergency placements or if you think you could offer emergency foster care, contact your local office today.
