Fostering payments

A fostering payment is paid to each of our foster parents to provide recognition for the invaluable work undertaken in the fostering role.

The fostering payment is paid to all foster parents whenever they take in a placement. The amount is set at a competitive rate. Please contact us for further information.

Fostering payments and full time fostering

The fostering payment provided by Key Assets Fostering enables our carers to commit to fostering on a full time basis. Our goal is to elevate the profile and status of the foster parent to a professional level, and we believe that for that role you should be paid accordingly.

This income covers the cost of living for both you as the foster parent and the child or young person you look after.

What does the fostering payment allow for?

The money that you are paid will cover the cost of everyday expenses:

  1. Your fostering payments will consider food costs, providing you with enough extra income to adequately cover the cost of feeding the child or youth in placement.
  2. Your fostering payment will consider clothing, especially significant for longer term placements.
  3. Your fostering payment will cover basic travel; circumstances such as a day out with the children and youth will inevitably incur extra travel costs.
  4. Fostering payments will account for household bills with another person accessing utilities.
  5. The fostering payment also considers everyday living expenses.
