Foster parents support

Key Assets Fostering is fully committed to providing high quality foster parents support to all of our foster parents. This applies throughout all aspects of the fostering task.

As part of our Team Parenting™ approach, we apply the principle of: ‘everybody is responsible for the child, and for the foster parent.’ We therefore introduce a small team of professionals to work closely with and provide support to foster parents and children and youth in foster care.

What support will you receive as foster parents?

We provide the following foster parents support package:

24 hour support, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Bi-weekly visits and regular telephone contact from a qualified and suitably experienced Key Assets Resource Support Worker. More about Key Assets Fostering Resource Support Workers.
Up to 21 nights paid respite per year.
An excellent package of financial support that values your skills as a foster parent.
Regular support group meetings with other foster parents to share experiences and knowledge.
Child and Youth Counsellors to work with the child or youth, especially if they are not attending school. More about Key Assets Fostering Child and Youth Counsellors.
Organized activities for you, your family and the children you look after.
An Education Officer to support you in negotiating with schools and promoting the child’s educational needs. More about Key Assets Fostering Education Officers.
Access to a Therapist for consultations and individual therapy for any child placed with you, as appropriate when needed. More about Key Assets Fostering Therapists.
